The Hunger Project (www.thp.org) is a global, non-profit, strategic organization committed to ending hunger throughout the world. The Hunger Project develops effective bottom-up strategies to end hunger and poverty. Ending hunger requires a true break with the status quo.
What appeals to Mammoet in The Hunger Project is that the whole strategy is based on confidence in the possibilities and potential of people. By investing in the knowledge and skills of the people themselves, they are forced into contact with their own qualities and creativity. In this way, they think of solutions themselves at a local level and therefore take their own development, and that of the surroundings in which they live, into their own hands. Mammoet fully supports this approach and has supported The Hunger Project since 2005.
