Mammoet’s services to the mining industry cover both the construction of new plant and supporting maintenance operations.
The current trend is to build large modules off-site and transport these to the mine for final assembly and installation, avoiding the need to bring large numbers of construction workers to remote sites. Mammoet has extensive experience of these operations, from the cold Canadian mountains to the sweltering deserts of Australia. Our Factory-to-Foundation concept means that we can cover all aspects of the transport operations: transport by heavy lift vessel to a suitable harbor, transport by road and inland waterway to the mine site, and offloading and installation of the modules on their foundations.
Our maintenance support services to the mining sector draw on our experience in the petrochemical and power industries. We are familiar with strict safety regulations and working to tight deadlines. Our creative engineers help us develop innovative and efficient solutions. Mammoet’s large fleet of equipment (cranes, SPMTs, jacking and skidding systems, etc.) and trained and experienced workforce means that we can undertake even the largest projects requiring dozens of cranes on a single jobsite.
Mammoet also provides a crane hire service for routine lifts.
